420 is a kind of martensitic stainless steel. It has high wear resistance and corrosion resistance. Its hardness and strength are relatively high as well. It is magnetic in annealing and quenching conditions. Great corrosion resistance can be attained by fully hardening and stress relieving. Corrosion resistance of 420:
420 is characterized by excellent corrosion resistance, which is achieved by hardening and polishing. 420 has good corrosion resistance to atmosphere, food, fresh water, mild alkalis and acid, crude oil, steam, blood, perspiration, alcohol as well as other similar corrosive medium.Heat treatment of 420:
The heat treating techniques of 420 stainless steel are shown as follows:
1. Quenching and tempering:
420 can obtain good comprehensive performance after quenching and elevated temperature tempering.
2. Quenching:
