Overview and characteristics of SUS420J2:
SUS420J2 is a type of martensite stainless steel. It can obtain good corrosion resistance, great polishability, high strength and wear resistance. Quenching and tempering should be carried out to improve its hardness (about 25~30HRC), followed by machining. In addition, heat treatment is not necessary, so deformation doesn’t occur during heat treatment. It is characterized by super mirror processing performance. It has excellent machaniability in the annealing state.

Heat treatment of SUS420J2:
Quenching temperature is 1000~1050℃. Tempering temperature is 200~500℃. Hardness is 50~55HRC.Applications of SUS420J2:
SUS420J2 is typically used in the fluoroplastics and corrosive plastic mould with adding flame retardant.
