UNS S43400Introduction
Ferritic stainless steel 434 (UNS S43400) is developed by adding 0.75% to 1.5% (mass fraction) of molybdenum on the basis of 434/S43400.The corrosion resistance is increases with the addition of molybdenum. It has performance and chemistry similar to that of 430 stainless steel. And 434 is a modification of Type 430.
Properties
434 (UNS S43400) has corrosion resistance,pitting and crevice resistance as well as strength, and the corrosion resistance under the salt solution circumstances is better than that of 430/S43000.And it also provides good heat and oxidation resistance up to 1500°F as well as good mechanical properties.

Forging process of 434 (UNS S43400)
Preheat / ℃ initial forging temperature / ℃ final forging temperature / ℃ Cooling
760 1040 ~ 1120 705 ~ 790 air-cooled
Heat treatment of 434/S43400
Annealing temperature is under 780 ~ 850 ℃, 1 ~ 2h, air cooling, the hardness ≤ 183HBW.
Application
434 (UNS S43400) is mainly used on below applications:
• automotive exterior materials
• wheels, fastening and outdoor decorative materials.
