Introduction & Properties
Heat-resistant 430LX (UNS S43035) is a kind of ferritic stainless steel, and its carbon content is less than that of 430. The addition of titanium or niobium separately makes the corrosion resistance better than that of 430, and improves welding and machining as well as intergranular corrosion resistance. However, 430LX (UNS S43035) has poor toughness and is not suitable for making bearing components below room temperature.

Forging process of 430LX/S43035
Preheat / ℃ initial forging temperature / ℃ final forging temperature / ℃ Cooling
760 1100 ~ 1150 705 ~ 790 air-cooled
Heat treatment of 430LX/S43035
Annealing temperature is 780 ~ 850 ℃, air cooling, the hardness ≤ 183HBW.
Application
430LX/S43035 stainless steel is suitable for parts with the requirements of resistance to nitric acid, ammonium nitrate and other acid , and it can partially replace the 18-8 ( a kind of chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel ). some applications are:
• containers and pipes oxidation equipment
• kitchen utensils, cutlery.
