Introduction & Properties
430F (UNS S43020) is a basic ferritic non-heat treatable stainless steel, and It has good corrosion and oxidation resistance, thermal conductivity and finish quality. 430F can also be heat treated to achieve around 40 HRC due to the high carbon content. The machining property is good on automatic lathe machines.

Forging process of 430F/S43020
Preheat / ℃ initial forging temperature / ℃ final forging temperature / ℃ Cooling
760 1040 ~ 1120 705 ~ 790 air-cooled
Heat treatment of 430F/S43020
Annealing temperature is 780 ~ 850 ℃, the hardness ≤ 183HBW.
Application
430F (UNS S43020) is preferably used for small parts, such as bolts, nuts, shafts, journals and other machine parts.
