LDX2101 is a kind of austenitic - ferritic duplex stainless steel developed by Avesta Polarit in Sweden. It belongs to low-alloy duplex stainless steel as well. LDX2101 possesses the features of stable structure, high strength, good weldability, excellent intergranular corrosion resistance, great comprehensive performance and a wide range of potential uses. Heat treatment of LDX2101:
The solution temperature is 950~1100℃. Cool in water. Hardness ≤230HBW。Weldability of LDX2101:
LDX2101 has great weldability. It can be available for gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), plasma arc welding (PAW) and submerged-arc welding (SAW). It can be used to fabricate seam welded steel pipes filled with the wire of 2209. The tensile strength of the welded joint after SAW is 30~40MPa higher than that of the base steel plate. The impact value of the weld at -50℃ is 47J, and impact value of the heat affected zone near the weld is 54J which is very similar to that of the base steel plate.Applications of LDX2101:
The potential application of LDX2101 is very wide due to its excellent comprehensive performance. In particular, its application in structural parts is very promising. For instance, it can be used as bridge structures instead of 2205/UNS S32205. It can be used as reinforced concrete to solve the corrosive problem of materials in the environment which is polluted by chloride ion.
