DP28W is a new type of high-grade duplex stainless steel. It is typically characterized by excellent corrosion resistance in urea-carbamate solution, which is achieved by its duplex structure and high content of chromium and tungsten. It is also well-known for high resistance to stress corrosion cracking in chloride environments. Weldability of DP28W:
DP28W has good weldability. Appropriate ferrite-austenite balance is kept even in the heat affected zone under the favorable addition of austenite formers. Optimized addition of molybdenum and tungsten prevents sigma phase precipitation during thermal cycles. This offers DP28W good corrosion resistance in the HAZ. In addition, the welding material used in it can be the conventional one.Applications of DP28W:
