UNS S31609Overview and features of 316H:
316H is a type of austenitic stainless steel. It is a variant of 316 stainless steel. Compared with 316 stainless steel, the carbon content of 316H is much higher. This increased carbon content offers 316H great tensile strength and yield strength as well as excellent toughness. It can also enhance the heat resistance of 316H. 316H has the characteristic of high decarburization resistance, which makes it suitable for the use at high temperature. Its weldability and intergranular resistance are not very good. Its corrosion resistance, toughness, weldability can be improved with the increased chromium content.Chemical compositions of 316H (%):
