FV520B
FV520B Precipitation hardening stainless steel
Acid resistant stainless steel
Heat resistant stainless steelCharacteristics of FV520B:
FV520B is a precipitation hardening stainless steel with good corrosion resistance, high weldability, good impact toughness and excellent wear resistance. It is also well-known for acid resistant stainless steel and heat resistant stainless steels. Compared with 17-4PH (UNS S17400), FV520B has superior resistance to intergranular and pitting corrosion. In general, it is used in industry and marine environments where rusting rate is low. It is recommended for steam turbine blades and aircraft components.Chemical compositions of FV520B (%):

Corrosion resistance of FV520B:
The corrosion resistance of FV520B in modest corrosion resistance is good. In some cases, it has relatively good corrosion resistance to some acid substance. In addition, it has excellent resistance to intergranular and pitting corrosion. It has low rusting rate in marine and industrial atmospheres.
Weldability of FV520B:
FV520B has good weldability if proper techniques are applied. What we have to keep in mind is that oxy-acetylene welding is not suitable for FV520B due to the possible pick up of carbon.
Applications of FV520B:
In general, FV520B is used in industry and marine environments where rusting rate is low. Its typical uses include gears, bolts, shafts, roulettes, blades, rotors, pump shafts, impellers, fasteners, fans, valves, hydraulic equipment which is used in oil and gas industries, petrochemical, marine and nuclear engineering as well as aircraft components like steam turbine blades and so on.
