Stainless steel 660 (UNS S66286) actually is a typical precipitation hardening heat-resistant steel, and the intermetallic compounds can achieve strength through the aging precipitation.Compared with other types, the processing performance of SUS660 is good and it has high corrosion resistance and the same oxidation resistance as that of SUS310S below 980 ℃.

Forging process of 660
Preheat / ℃ initial forging temperature / ℃ final forging temperature / ℃ Cooling
800 1000 ~ 1140 ≥ 900 air-cooled
Heat treatment of SUS660
Solution temperature is 970 ~ 990 ℃, cooling with oil; aging temperature is 500 ~ 600 ℃, cooling with air, hardness ≥ 248HBW.
Precipitation and hardening of 660
700 ~ 760 ℃, cooling with air, hardness ≥ 248HBW.
Application
Stainless steel 660 (UNS S66286) is mainly used on parts with the requirements of high strength and excellent corrosion resistance under 700 ℃.
Typical applications are shown below:
• steam turbine, rotor, blade, skeleton
• combustor and bolts
