UNS S17600
Precipitation hardening stainless steel 635 (UNS S17600) is developed on basic of the 631/S17700 by reducing aluminum and adding titanium. Al can improve the oxidation resistance of steel and titanium can prevent inter granular corrosion. The hardness of 635/S17600 stainless steel is less than 32HRC after solution treatment, and 635 (UNS S17600) has excellent oxidation resistance and good resistance to inter granular corrosion.

Forging process of 635 (UNS S17600)
Preheat / ℃ heating temperature / ℃ initial forging temperature / ℃ final forging temperature / ℃ cooling
800 1180 ~ 1200 1150 ~ 1160 ≥ 930 air-cooled
Heat treatment of 635 (UNS S17600)
Solution temperature is 1020 ~ 1100 ℃, cooling with water, hardness ≤ 32HRC.
Application
635 (UNS S17600) can be used on parts with the requirements of high strength and resistance to oxidation, corrosion .
