634 is a type of half austenitic precipitation hardening stainless steel which is developed in America. Half austenitic precipitation hardening stainless steel has the following special advantages: Firstly, 634 stainless steel has the features of austenitic stainless steel after solution and it is very easy to cold form. Secondly, 634 stainless steel has the characteristics of martensite stainless steel after strengthening treatment. What’s more, the heat treating temperature is not high. It has no disadvantage of deformation and oxidation. The using temperature of this kind of stainless steel is usually controlled below 315℃, because the intermetallic compound will precipitate if the stainless steel is working at the temperature above 315℃, which will cause the brittleness of material.Chemical composition of 634 (%):
