Raw material choice of stainless steel
When choosing the raw material of stainless steel, literature is important. However, it should be considered that the size effect and quality effect are different from the actual operating conditions, or it will cause errors. Especially, the data which is got from the study of stainless steel small sample, does not necessarily apply to the actual parts. The selection method and the size of the parts have great influence on the creep rupture or impact value data. So, this point should be noticed when using the literature material. The data itself, of course, also is hard to avoid errors. Therefore, it will lead to a large error if determining the required performance according to only one data. Only understanding the basic concept of the heat treatment of stainless steel is not enough. The spot experience also should be considered, or it cann't correctly heat treated.
First, the quality of stainless steel raw material should be good. No matter how brilliant the heat treatment is, it is impossible to get good stainless steel parts if the raw material is bad. So, it is very important to check the quality of the stainless steel raw material. Then, heat treatment is heating and cooling after all. And there should be a strict thermal management. It can not receive a good effect of heat treatment if there is no correct temperature measurement and control. Finally, the quality cotrol of heat treatment must be strict. For this, it is necessary to understand that what technology should be adopted and the main points of the quality assurance.
