The usage of seamless heat resistant steel pipe
Heat resistant steel is a kind of special stainless steel which is widely use in manufacture. Heat
resistant steel pipe production is mainly referred to seamless steel tube production, including welded
steel pipe.
According to the size range and the requirements of dimensional accuracy and surface quality, seamless
steel pipe are usually produced in the method of hot working and cooling after hot working. When the
outside diameter is not less than 900 mm inch and the producing outside dimaeter is not less than 220 mm
using hot extrusion method, Use the hot extrusion method to produce capillary and then cold roll them. In
order to get higher size precision and surface quality, cold drawing process is ofter required. There are
two types of seamless steel tube hot working process, including hot extrusion and hot rolled. Hot
extrusion steel pipe and hot rolled steel tube can be used as finished products after heat treatment,
also they can be used as cold tube blank.
Cold rolling and cold drawn are two different steel pipe production process. Cold rolling process
characteristic is a cyclical iteration, while cold drawing is a continuous process. Cold rolled's one
deformation is huge, not only making cold cycle much shorter, also making the wall thickness accuracy and
surface quality higher. However, the outside diameter size zccuracy in the method is not as good as that
made by cold drawn. The equipment of cold drawn is very simple. This method is widely used because the
work mould can be produced and operated easily, and the dimensional accuracy and surface quality can be
controled easier. With all avandtages, seamless steel is produced in the method that primarily depends on
cold drawn, together with cold rolling, in order to meet the different requirements.
